February Meeting: Anatomy of a Turnaround: Turning underperforming units into high performing teams

Overview:

Dysfunctional and underperforming work groups and departments sap the resources of any organization. In a struggling economy, improving organizational productivity at any level becomes especially important, but solutions often elude leaders. This session will take participants through a turnaround process for boosting productivity by turning around low performing work units.

Our Presenter:

Kevin Herring, founder and President of Ascent Management Consulting, is a recognized expert in performance turnarounds, engaged leadership, high commitment workplaces, and HR reinventions for creating business impact.

Kevin has served in leadership positions in several Fortune 500 companies and consulted both nationally and internationally.

He has spoken at national and regional conferences in the U.S. and Canada and has been published and quoted in CFO Magazine, Forbes, Leader’s Edge, Workforce Management, and others.

The STAR status is earned when a chapter reaches a joint national and chapter membership level between 35% and 49% by December 31, 2009. The Greater Tucson Chapter has already achieved a joint membership rate of 47%.

This outstanding achievement exceeds the 30% Chapter Operating Requirement (CORE). It also demonstrates the chapter’s commitment to engaging and informing members about the benefits of both ASTD national and the local chapter.
